Over the past several weeks, I've been experimenting with VR--testing various approaches, equipment, and software. I'm very excited to announce CJ's very first VR release starring Kana.
As a first VR release, I'm releasing it at a fairly low price. I'm sure I broke some (or all) of the strict rules of proper VR video production, but most are probably aware by now that I'm not really one for rules.
Overall I'm quite happy with how it came out. Unlike most other VR videos, I decided to forgo a fixed camera in favor of a body-mounted camera approach. Fortunately, the camera has excellent stabilizing features, and I think the body-mounted style delivers a more dynamic and immersive VR experience. Constructive feedback is of course welcome, especially from avid VR fans.
For fans of traditional 2D videos, please rest assured that I plan to continue producing those alongside VR videos. I have no plans to make Covert Japan exclusively VR.
